Gan International Airport has announced that, as part of the ongoing Gan Airport Development Project, the existing sections of the passenger terminal will be handed over to the contractor at 23:59 on 15th May 2026 to begin major redevelopment works. To ensure construction can proceed while airport operations continue, temporary adjustments will be made to how the terminal is used.

During this period, passenger processing will be shifted to the terminal’s side wings. The East Wing will handle check‑in, departures, and arrivals for international flights, while the West Wing will be used for domestic departures and arrivals during international operations.

Airport authorities have advised passengers of several temporary service changes. Some baggage handling tasks may be performed manually, which could cause minor delays. Travellers are urged to arrive according to their airline’s recommended reporting time and follow all instructions from airline and ground‑handling staff. Additional personnel will be available throughout the terminal to assist passengers and provide guidance on the temporary layout.

The airport has apologized for any inconvenience caused and requested the cooperation of all passengers during the construction phase. Once completed, the upgraded terminal will offer improved space, comfort, and convenience, after which full operations will resume.
