The Maldives edges closer to the yearly tourist arrival target as the total tourist arrivals surpass 700,000.
At the present rate, August may be the month with the most tourist arrivals for 2021 as the daily average remained an all-time high for the year during this month.
Russian market remains on top with 154,380 tourist arrivals and India is in second with 132,745 arrivals. In third is Germany followed by the USA and Ukraine.
Emirates continues its rank as the top airliner to the Maldives carrying 141,055 tourists with Qatar Airways in second with 121,439 tourists carried.
The tourist arrival target of 1.5 million was set at the start of the year however, 1.3 million tourists are now expected to arrive in the Maldives in 2021.
