Strike Leads To Cancellation Of More Than 300 Flights In Portugal

A strike called by the Union of Airport Handling Technicians (STHA) in Portugal led to the cancellation of more than 300 flights.

The strike is by the employees of ground-handling company Groundforce who have said the working condition has been “unsustainable” for several months.

Major airports in Portugal canceled flights due to the lack of ground support. Just in Lisbon Airport, more than 80% of ground support staff did not show up to work.

Airlines flights that were handled by Groundforce staff were heavily affected whereas other airlines' flights were mainly operational.
