Pakistan’s Airports Authority has issued a NOTAM warning airlines that Jet A‑1 fuel supplies at major airports are facing disruptions, prompting carriers to tanker maximum fuel from abroad and minimise refueling inside the country.

The advisory, issued under code A0147/26, applies to Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport and Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport, the two busiest gateways in Pakistan.

The notice states that due to a disruption in the Jet A‑1 supply chain, airlines should take precautionary measures by carrying additional fuel from their departure points so they rely less on local uplift. This step is intended to prevent operational delays or cancellations if fuel stocks tighten further.

The NOTAM took effect on 13 March 2026 and will remain valid until 31 March 2026, though authorities may extend it if supply issues persist. Airlines operating into Pakistan are expected to adjust their flight planning accordingly, including increased fuel tankering and longer ground times for operational checks.

The advisory highlights ongoing pressure on Pakistan’s aviation fuel logistics, with officials monitoring the situation as carriers adapt their operations to maintain normal schedules.
