The national carrier of Pakistan, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is planning to operate direct flights to Australia, Hong Kong, and the Maldives in the coming weeks.
PIA is likely to begin operations to Europe as well after the completion of an audit by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) which is likely to be conducted in February.

In all 262 out of 860 active pilots in the country reportedly cheated in their pilot exams. Following the scandal PIA fired 52 employees, of which 25 were for having fake qualifications.
