MACL: There Will Be No Interruption Of Jet Fuel Supply To Airlines

Maldives Airports Company (MACL) has clarified in a press release that there would be no interruption in jet fuel supply to airlines in contradiction to reports by certain media agencies.

Speculations spread regarding the availability of jet fuel at Velana International Airport which is expected to last until September 6th while the fuel shipment is scheduled to arrive on September 7th.


MACL has said the company is facing delays in the delivery of the last fuel shipment from the fuel supplier however, the company has a buffer stock under the contingency action plan to avoid any fuel shortages.


MACL is also working together with airlines in order to mitigate risks associated with fuel shipment delays.


Furthermore, MACL highlighted that the fuel circular issued recently is a routine price announcement that is based on fuel market prices and has no relation to the fuel supply delay as reported by certain media’s.
