Kalitta Air Boeing 747 arrives in the Maldives with Medical Supplies Donated by the American Govt


The US government through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) donated 600 pulse oximeters & 292,000 pieces of personal protective equipment (PPE) to support frontline healthcare workers of the Maldives.

The Kalitta Air Boeing 747-400 carrying the medical equipments landed this morning at Velana International Airport. The aircraft flew from the USA to Belgium, and Pakistan before flying to the Maldives.


USAID donated 1,200 pulse oximeters, and 340,000 pieces of personal protective equipment to Pakistan and 880,000 pieces of personal protective equipment with 1,200 pulse oximeters to Sri Lanka.


USAID has already donated 60 ventilators and $9.1 million in financial assistance to the Maldives.
