The incident occurred last Sunday at Chicago O’Hare airport right after the airplane took off.

The Envoy Airlines Embraer E175 was performing flight AA-3961 from Chicago O’Hare (KORD) in Illinois, to Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (KDTW) in Michigan, USA.

The E175 took off from runway 09C and initiated a left turn during departure and then the airplane hit the drone.

The crew leveled off at 6,000ft and entered a holding pattern and decided to return back to Chicago.

The E175 landed safely landed after 40 mins from initial takeoff.

Although the damage to the airplane is unclear; the same E175 was back in the air 12 hours later performing a scheduled flight.
