Envoy Embraer ERJ-145 Diverts after Smoke in the Cabin with Fire indication


An Envoy Embraer ERJ-145 diverted to St.Louis after reporting an indication of a fire.

The flight AA-4474 was from Little Rock, to Chicago O'Hare, USA with 50 passengers and 3 crew.


The Embraer was en route at 25,000ft when the crew reported a fire indication and decided to divert to St Louis.


The crew had donned their oxygen masks and during approach, they advised ATC tower that they had used a fire extinguisher however the cockpit fire indication remained indicated.


After 18 minutes the crew safely landed on runway 06 with emergency vehicles standing by.


It was later reported that the ERJ’s number 2 Air Cycle Machine seized which caused the smoke in the cabin.
