Emirates to operate flights with medical supplies to India free of charge


Emirates will be operating flights with medical supplies to nine cities in India from Dubai free of charge.

The supplies will be organized through Dubai's International Humanitarian City. The first flight is set to depart on 13th May to New Delhi with 12.6 tonnes of multi-purpose tents from the World Health Organization (WHO).


Emirates SkyCargo is also the leading airliner in the global Covid vaccine distribution. Emirates has transported over 59 million doses to more than 50 destinations worldwide.


Earlier this month Qatar Airways announced that the airline will be transporting 300 tones of medical equipment that include PPE kits, oxygen canisters, and other essential medical items free of charge to India through its efforts to combat the spread of COVID-19.


Total COVID19 cases have risen to 22 million as of today with 300,000 new cases daily with deaths from COVID-19 reaching to 242,000 according to reports.
