Emirates to operate a ‘flight to nowhere’ to celebrate vaccination milestone


Emirates to operate a special ‘flight to nowhere’ to celebrate vaccination milestone on the 10th April 2021. All fares collected from this special flight EK2021 will be donated to the Emirates Airline Foundation.

Emirates newest Airbus A380 which features brand-new Premium Economy seats, and refreshed cabin interiors across all cabin classes will be used on flight EK2021.


The flight will depart from Dubai International Airport at 12:00 local time. The A380 will cruise over various areas across the UAE and return for landing by 14:30 local time.


Passengers traveling on EK2021 will be able to experience all of Dubai International Airport’s services and amenities on the ground before boarding.


Today, over 35,000 Emirates employees have received their COVID-19 vaccine shot with 85% of the airline’s pilots and cabin crew already have received two doses of the vaccine.


Tickets for flight EK2021 will be available to UAE citizens and residents who have completed the two weeks after their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.


Tickets for the flights costs AED1,000 (MVR 4,209) for economy class and AED 2,000 (MVR 8,418) for business class.


Tickets can be purchased from the Emirates contact center, Emirates sales offices in the UAE, as well as local travel agents.
