Due to high demand Emirates increases flights to the Maldives


Emirates has announced that the airline will be operating 28 flights weekly to Velana International Airport starting 28th March.


The additional flights are scheduled to be operated until 31st May. The demand for passenger arrival spiked up due to the upcoming Easter season.


Since the start of 2021 Emirates has operated more than 444 flights to the Maldives carrying more than 39,000 passengers.


As of 4th March 2021, a total of 198,116 tourists has arrived in the Maldives. The top market for the tourist was from India with 46,541 arrivals, followed by Russia with 42,417 tourist arrivals.
