An Air India Boeing 777 was forced to return mid-flight after a bat was loose in the cabin

The Air India flight AI-105 was a scheduled flight operating from New Delhi, India to Newark, USA on a Boeing 777-300.


The bat was spotted in the cabin while the aircraft was cruising at 30,000ft 30 minutes into the flight. The flight crew decided to return to Delhi and the aircraft landed safely one hour later.


On landing, Wildlife staff was called to catch and remove the bat from the cabin and the aircraft was fumigated.
