Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) generated a revenue of MVR 1.6 Billion in the Frist quarter of 2022.
The MVR 1.6 Billion in revenu is an 11% growth in revenue in comparison to the previous quarter.
MACL recorded a 39% increase in net profit compared to the previous quarter with a net profit of MVR 595 million.
The total revenue growth has been improving since Q2 2021, however the growth rate decline in Q1 2022 as a result of reduction in non-aero revenue.
Earlier in October MACL began the use of the new runway at Velana International Airport providing a double increase in runway capacity.
The new seaplane terminal is also in operation along with the new VIP terminal. Once the construction of the new international terminal building is completed, VIA will be able to handle a whopping 7.8 million passengers annually.
