SpiceJet Boeing 737 Suffered A Bird Strike With Streaks Of Flame Observed From The Engine

A Spicejet Boeing 737-800 operating flight SG-723 from Patna to Delhi performed an emergency landing due to a bird strike.

The Boeing 737 carrying 185 people on board was climbing out from Patna's runway 25 when the left-hand engine ingested a bird and emitted streaks of flames.

The crew levelled off at 2,500 feet, shut the engine down and returned for a safe landing 20 minutes after departure. India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) also reported that the engine ingested a bird and was shut down.
