FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar brought in hundreds of thousands of fans from all over the world to the tiny nation.

During just the first week over 7,000 flights operated in and out of Qatar with multiple international airlines increasing scheduled and charter operations to the nation for the event.
Both Hamad International Airport (HIA) and Doha International Airport were prepared to handle 100 flights per hour.
Throughout the entire FIFA World Cup 2022, Qatar Airways operated over 14,000 flights.
During the entirety of the event, Qatar Airways' frequent flyer program, the Privilege Club, welcomed 67,000 new valued members.
The airline also received over 1.8 million fans at the Qatar Airways Sky House located at the FIFA Fan Festival.
Additionally, the airline hosted seven live concerts featuring performances from artists such as Enrique Iglesias, Jason Derulo, Black Eyed Peas, Akon, etc.
Right after the World Cup Qatar Airways operated more than 440 scheduled flights per day for fans leaving the country and with Christmas and New Year holidays at the corner, the airline is expected to remain very busy.
