Maldives Marketing & PR Corporation (MMPRC) and Emirates have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing tourism to the Maldives through Emirates’ extensive global network.

The agreement was formalized during the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2025 in Dubai, with Emirates’ Senior Vice President for Commercial Operations (West Asia and Indian Ocean), Essa Sulaiman Ahmad, and MMPRC’s CEO and Managing Director, Ibrahim Shiuree, officiating the signing.
This strategic partnership underscores Emirates’ long-standing commitment to the Maldives, a destination it has served since 1987. In 2024 alone, Emirates transported approximately 360,000 passengers to the Maldives, highlighting its pivotal role in the nation’s tourism sector.
Under the MoU, Emirates and MMPRC will collaborate on joint advertising campaigns across key markets, organize familiarization trips for media and travel agents, and develop customized travel packages to attract a broader audience. The partnership also aims to activate tour operators and travel agencies to promote the Maldives as a premier travel destination.
Beyond tourism promotion, Emirates will leverage its cargo-handling capabilities to support the development of business and trade opportunities in the Maldives, further strengthening economic ties between the two entities.
This collaboration is part of Emirates’ broader initiative to forge strategic partnerships with tourism boards worldwide, aiming to stimulate global tourism and foster sustainable economic growth.
