Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) has achieved a landmark operational milestone, completing the highest single‑day volume of flights and passenger movements in its history.

Across the day, TMA successfully served more than 7,000 passengers and executed over 800 take offs and landings, underscoring the airline’s unmatched capacity to deliver seamless connectivity across the Maldives’ dispersed island network.

This achievement reflects the strength of TMA’s operational readiness and its ability to scale efficiently during periods of peak demand. Coordinating such a high volume of movements requires precise planning, disciplined execution, and real-time collaboration across multiple operational units from dispatch and crew scheduling to ramp operations, maintenance, and guest handling.

TMA credited the milestone to the dedication and professionalism of its teams, who consistently manage complex, high-frequency operations while maintaining smooth and reliable service for passengers.

As the world’s largest seaplane operator, Trans Maldivian Airways plays a central role in the Maldives’ tourism ecosystem, providing essential  connectivity to resorts across the archipelago. The record setting day further reinforces TMA’s position as a critical enabler of the country’s travel and hospitality sector.
