Armenian airline Shirak Avia has announced plans to launch direct flights from Yerevan to the Maldives in November 2026, marking the first regular service between the two destinations.

The route will connect Yerevan’s Zvartnots International Airport with Malé’s Velana International Airport. The inaugural flight is scheduled for November 14, 2026, and the service will operate once a week, every Saturday, using a Boeing 737-800.

According to the published schedule, outbound flight 5G963 will depart Yerevan at 03:05 local time, stop in Muscat, Oman, for technical refueling, and arrive in Malé at 12:10. The return flight, 5G964, will leave Malé at 13:10 and arrive back in Yerevan at 20:15. The total journey time is approximately eight hours.

One-way fares start from US$455, and tickets are already on sale. The flights are currently scheduled to operate until March 2027.

The Maldives service is part of Shirak Avia’s broader winter 2026/27 expansion. The carrier is also set to launch weekly flights to Bali from November 1 and Phuket from November 5, both with technical stops in Dhaka.
