S7 Airlines has begun scheduled flights to the Maldives, launching a new route linking Novosibirsk with Velana International Airport. The inaugural flight arrived in Malé on Friday, 30 October 2026, marking the airline’s entry into the Maldives market.

The service is scheduled to operate twice weekly, on Mondays and Fridays, using Airbus A320-family aircraft. The route includes a technical refuelling stop en route, with passengers remaining on board.

The launch makes S7 the latest carrier to expand air connectivity between Russia and the Maldives, and it is described as the first direct air link between the Maldives and a Russian city other than Moscow.

The new service is expected to improve access for travellers from Siberia and surrounding regions and to support tourism and business ties between the two destinations.
