A cyberattack targeting Collins Aerospace’s passenger processing systems has caused widespread disruption across several of Europe’s busiest airports, including London Heathrow, Brussels, and Berlin, forcing airlines and airport operators to revert to manual check-in procedures.

The incident, which began late Friday, affected software used for electronic check-in and baggage drop, leading to delays and cancellations. Heathrow Airport confirmed that Collins Aerospace was experiencing a “technical issue that may cause delays for departing passengers,” and advised travelers to check with their airlines before arriving.
Brussels Airport reported a “large impact on the flight schedule,” while Berlin Brandenburg Airport noted extended delays due to the outage. All three airports shifted to manual processing to maintain operations.
Collins Aerospace, a subsidiary of RTX Corporation, acknowledged the cyber-related disruption and stated that while electronic interfaces were affected, manual workarounds were available. The company is working to restore full functionality.
Notably, Frankfurt, Zurich, and Paris airports reported no disruptions, suggesting the attack’s scope was limited. No group has claimed responsibility, and there is no evidence of data theft.
