As the new year season is underway, many airlines have begun to resume flights to the Maldives while others are launching new routes this October.
National airline Maldivian will be launching a new route connecting Maafaru and New Delhi, India.
Maldivian will be operating three weekly flights between the two destinations on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays starting 21st October.
From 14th October, Sri Lankan Airlines will be launching a new route from Mattala to Male’ operating weekly once.
The airline has said flight frequency will be increased throughout the coming months depending on passenger demand.
Air Astana and Austrian Airlines will be resuming flights to Velana International Airport this October.
Air Astana will resume flights from 4th October operating four weekly flights whereas Austrian airlines will operate three weekly flights in time for the holidays in Austria.
Flight operations to Velana International Airport and the aviation industry in general are expected to remain busy throughout the new year season.
