Island Aviation Services is seeking interested parties in developing a new flight training school in the Maldives.
Following the publicly raised concerns by its students over the mismanagement of the Asian Academy of Aeronautics (AAA), national airline Maldivian has said earlier they have the professional capacity to operate a flying school in the Maldives.
However, Transport and Civil Aviation Minister, Aishath Nahula has said yesterday that Island Aviation Service is facing difficulties in establishing a new school due to the ongoing pandemic.
She further highlighted that AAA flying school is the sole solution available for the students in Addu City at present.
Villa Air FlyMe is also in the process of establishing a new flying school. Villa Air announced in February that they were in the final stages of starting the flying school and were hiring flight instructors during March.
Interested parties are to apply before 0000HRS on 10th June 2021.(https://www.gazette.gov.mv/iulaan/view/152870)
