IndiGo Signs Codeshare Agreement With American Airlines

In time for American Airlines' return to India, the airline announced a new codeshare partnership with the Indian low-cost carrier IndiGo.

American Airlines will be launching flights from New York to Delhi on 31st October and flights to Bangalore are expected to launch by January. Timings and flight frequency will be changed depending on passenger demand.

With the codeshare agreement, passengers will have easy access to 29 destinations from New Delhi and Bangalore through IndiGo’s network.

“We’re eager to add IndiGo as our trusted partner in India. Whether our customers are traveling for business or pleasure, this new partnership makes it easy to reach all four corners of India. Today we’re adding 29 new routes to our map as a result of this agreement, providing customers with even more options around the globe.” Vasu Raja, American’s Chief Revenue Officer.

Passengers flying in international business class on American flights will also have access to IndiGo partner lounges in their originating city.

Over the years IndiGo has grown steadily operating with a fleet of 275 aircraft, with nearly 600 additional aircraft on order.
