Hoarafushi airport suffered damages as the airport was hit with severe weather this morning.
The airports departure terminal windows broke off today morning around 10:30 as the weather intensified around the airport.
At the time Metrology Maldives have issued a yellow alert from Haa Alif Atoll to Thaa Atoll. The region was hit with heavy rainfall with wind speeds reaching 55mph during gusts.
Hoarafushi Airport was constructed by Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) and was officially opened on 19th November 2020.
