FlyMe commences International flight operations with first flight to Sri Lanka. A major milestone

Villa air Flyme commenced operations in 2011 with the ATR series aircraft based from Villa Airport. The airline operated domestic flights primarily catering to Dharavandhoo Airport and Maamigili airport.

Flyme received Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) for the international operations late Thursday and commenced operations to Sri Lanka today with their recently acquired ATR 72-600 series aircraft.

The airlines flight operations were halted with closure of international borders due to the impact of Covid-19. Tourism is slowly picking up in the Maldives as with Villa Air; Air India, Indigo and Aeroflot resumed flight operations to the Maldives.

Flyme‘s flight VP8911 from Colombo is expected to land at Velana International Airport at 18:45 this evening. Congratulations to the Villa Air FlyMe, this is incredible milestone for the airline and the aviation industry of Maldives.
