FedEx Express has retired the world's last active McDonnell Douglas MD-10-10F cargo aircraft.

The last flight was operated from San Juan Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport, Puerto Rico, to Memphis International Airport on 2nd June and the aircraft was flown to storage in Victorville on 4th June.
At the start of 2021, FedEx had only four remaining MD-10-10F. The first was retired in January and two more were retired in May.
The last MD-10-10F, MSN 46496 was originally built as passenger aircraft which was later converted into a freighter.

The 43-year-old aircraft was initially delivered to American Airlines and later operated with Hawaiian airlines before being acquired by FedEx Express.
FedEx still has13 MD-10-30F all of which would be retired by 2023. FedEx is replacing the aging aircraft with Boeing 767s and 777s which are more efficient and reliable.
