Etihad Airways Airbus A350 back in the air after 2 years in storage

The UAE flag carrier Etihad Airways received 5 of its A350 orders two years earlier. The aircraft were flown from Toulouse to Bordeaux, France where they remained in storage until yesterday.

The 5 A350-1000 were moved from Bordeaux–Mérignac Airport to the airline’s base in Abu Dhabi International Airport. It is yet unclear on which routes the A350s would be used for.

Over the last few months, the airline has brought major changes to its fleet under a restructuring plan following the financial impact the company has faced.

Etihad Airways has retired the Airbus A330 while the Boeing 777-300ER will be phased out by the end of the year. The airlines A380’s remain grounded. In addition to the 5 A350s, the airline has further 15 orders for the A350.
