The Cessna CitationJet CJ/M2 is the light business jet variant of the Cessna Citation family introduced first in 1989.
The Citation CJ4 Gen2 just received its EASA certification. CJ4 is the largest of the light jet series.
The CJ4 Gen2’s new designs were focused primarily on passenger comfort. Stairs were redesigned to make boarding easy, the galley area has been upgraded and premium seating now provides a wider selection and more options for storage in flight.
“With the CJ4 Gen2, we focused on a design that enhances the passenger comfort with an elevated cabin to match the performance capabilities already trusted by Citation CJ4 owners,” - Christi Tannahill, senior vice president, customer experience for Textron Aviation.
The new wireless cabin management system can control cabin lighting, window shades, and ambient temperature through a mobile-device interface and features a media server that can stream audio and video files.
“Developments in technology have allowed us to introduce new design elements. A first for Citation light jets are the CoolView Skylights and a vanity option, which give our customers the atmosphere of a large aircraft with light jet performance capabilities.”
The cockpit of the CJ4 Gen 2 features Collin Pro Line 21 avionics suite with dual PFDs and MFDs, and a single FMS with a dual option available.
The aircraft is powered by two Williams International FJ44-4A power plant which provides a maximum cruise speed of 451Kts.
A private jet charter company, DALaviation Switzerland will be the first European customer to purchase the Cessna Citation CJ4 Gen2 jet.
