Brazilian Football club Palmas President and four players dead in plane crash

President of the Brazilian football club Palmas, Lucas Meira, and four of its players dead after the airplane carrying them crashes while taking off.


The team was on their way to Goiania, in the central region of the country, to play a match against Vila Nova.


According to reports, four players were traveling in the private plane because they had tested positive for COVID-19 earlier that Sunday would be their last day of isolation, and the rest of the players would travel on a commercial flight.


The reason for the crash is yet unknown but the Twin Engine Baron was found 500 meters from the runway consumed by fire.
