Last Thursday Emirates operated first passenger flight between Dubai and Tel Aviv.
Flight EK931 was operated on a Boeing 777 which takes three hours to operate. EK931 was welcomed with a water cannon salute at Ben Gurion Airport to an audience of travellers, aviation fans and guests.
Israel’s Minister of Transport and Road Safety MK Merav Michaeli said:
“The ties between Israel and the UAE are strategic economic ties and are critical to strengthening our position in face of the changing threats in the Middle East. On my last visit to the UAE, I signed agreements that will facilitate the trade and mobility between us, mobility as a tool to empower the citizens and economies of both countries.”
Emirates’ flights to and from Tel Aviv are timed to provide convenient connections to popular destinations like Maldives, Australia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Etc.

This new service is expected to strengthen the business and tourism links between the two countries as currently, 500 Israeli companies operate in the UAE and trade between the UAE and Israel is expected to reach USD 2 billion by the end of this year.
Flight EK931 leaves from UAE at 15:50hrs, arriving at Ben Gurion Airport at 18:00hrs local time with the return flight departing Tel Aviv at 19:55hrs and arriving in Dubai at 23:59hrs local time.
