National airline Maldivian will begin flights to Madivaru Airport located in Lhaviyani Atoll on Friday, February 18th, 2022.
Kuredu Holdings was awarded the contract for the construction of Madivaru Airport during 2018 which included land reclamation from Madivaru’s lagoon, building a 1200m runway, a passenger terminal, etc.
After completion of the project, the first test flight was carried out on 25th December 2021 by Maldivian.
The airport will be inaugurated this Friday by the President of the Maldives, Mr. Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
The one-way ticket from Male’ to Madivaru
would cost MVR 1,029 and the return ticket will cost MVR 2,058.
