The Ilyushin Il-96-400M is a passenger version of the Il-96-400T cargo aircraft.

This aircraft fuselage is 9.65 m longer than the existing Il-96-300 passenger variant and has a planned seating capacity of 390 passengers.

Since 2017 the Russian Government has invested $57.4 million into the development of the Ilyushin Il-96-400M.

Russia’s airline industry has faced challenges since the conflict in Ukraine began in February 2022. Many countries, including most in Europe, responded with sanctions on Russian carriers which affected not just their flight schedules but also their access to aircraft and supplies.

Thus the essential need for home made commercial airliners is important now more than ever for Russia.

Replying to

The conflict in Ukraine was provoked by the US-NATO gang to irritate Russia by waging a 8-year long war of genocide against the Donbass region to cleanse the Russian ethnics for not accepting the illegal government of Ukraine installed by the Maidan coup in 2014 which was instigated by the US and the West. Period.
