SriLankan Airlines Adds Airbus A330-200, Its First Wide-Body in Seven Years

SriLankan Airlines has taken a significant step in its fleet expansion with the addition of a new Airbus A330-200. This marks the airline's first wide-body aircraft acquisition in seven years, reinforcing its commitment to enhancing long-haul operations and passenger experience.

The aircraft, arriving from Paris, performed a low fly-past over Colombo and Katunayake before touching down at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA). With this addition, SriLankan Airlines' fleet now totals 23 aircraft, including 10 wide-body and 13 narrow-body planes.


The aircraft features a two-class configuration, with 18 Business Class and 242

Economy Class seats. Passengers can enjoy wireless in-flight entertainment and USB charging ports at every seat, ensuring a comfortable and modern travel experience.


SriLankan Airlines sees this addition as a strategic move to meet growing passenger demand and support Sri Lanka's tourism goals. The airline plans to induct more wide-body aircraft in the near future, further strengthening its global connectivity
