InterCaribbean Airways has acquired one of Villa Air's ATRs which departed on the ferry flight this afternoon.
Villa Air acquired the 20-year-old ATR first in 2015 and had retired from flight operations last December under ongoing fleet restructuring.
Before the sale, the ATR was owned by Falko Regional Aircraft managed by Chorus Aviation Capital. It was also reported that Villa Air sold another ATR 42-500, 8Q-VAX also to InterCaribbean Airways although it is yet to be ferried.
The acquisition is also InterCaribbean Airways' first ATR 72-500. InterCaribbean Airways has a fleet of one ATR42-500, ten Embraer E120s, three E145s, and one DHC6 Twin Otter.
