A Biman Bangladesh Airlines Dash 8-400 lost a wheel shortly after takeoff from Cox's Bazar Airport. The flight, carrying 71 passengers successfully landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 2:17 PM.

The aircraft, operating as Flight BG 436, departed Cox's Bazar at 1:20 PM en route to Dhaka. Moments after takeoff, airport officials noticed a wheel had detached from the landing gear and fallen onto the runway. The wheel was later recovered from Samiti Para, a nearby area.
Upon detecting the issue, the pilot immediately contacted Dhaka Air Traffic Control (ATC) and requested an emergency landing. In response, authorities at Shahjalal International Airport activated emergency protocols, including deploying fire service teams near the runway.
Despite the missing wheel, the aircraft landed safely without further complications.
ABM Rawsan Kabir, General Manager of Public Relations at Biman Bangladesh Airlines, confirmed that the airline's engineering team was stationed at the airport to assess the aircraft upon arrival.
An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the wheel detachment. Possible factors include maintenance issues, material failure, or human error.
