Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives, is set to receive its newest ATR 42-600, registered as 8Q-IAV, as part of its ongoing fleet renewal. The aircraft is currently under final preparations prior to the journey to the Maldives in the coming days.
Maldivian is gradually phasing out its aging Dash 8 aircraft in favor of modern and fuel-efficient ATR turboprops. With the arrival of 8Q-IAV, the airline is further strengthening its domestic operations, offering passengers a smoother and more enjoyable flying experience.
The ATR 42-600 is equipped with advanced avionics, optimized fuel efficiency, and a quieter, more comfortable cabin, making it an ideal choice for short-haul routes across the Maldives. It provides improved operational reliability while reducing environmental impact.
