Maldivian to Launch New Domestic Service Connecting Addu and Huvadhoo Atoll

Maldivian, national carrier of the Maldives to inaugurate a novel domestic service as part of the South Connectivity Initiative. This strategic endeavor will seamlessly link Gan International Airport (GAN) in the Seenu atoll with Kooddoo Airport (GKK) in the Huvadhoo atoll, operating twice weekly starting from October 29, 2024.



The South Connectivity Initiative, a collaborative effort involving the Government of Maldives, Maldivian, Addu International Airport, the Ministry of Transport & Civil Aviation, the Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation, and the Ministry of Tourism, aims to enhance tourism connectivity and boost commercial ties.


By fostering this vital link, Maldivian demonstrates its unwavering commitment to bolstering connectivity for both local residents and visitors, thereby advancing the resilience of the Maldives’ tourism ecosystem.


The newly established route between GAN and GKK not only provides a direct gateway for incoming tourists via Sri Lankan Airlines, but also grants access to over resort and guest house accommodations in the Gaaf Alifu and Gaaf Dhaalu atolls. Furthermore, it promises to facilitate import/export trade for local businesses in the Southern Zone.


Ticket bookings  will be accessible starting April 4, 2024, through various Maldivian sales channels, including the official website, mobile application, ticketing office, and sales agents.
