The United States Air Force has grounded its entire Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit bomber fleet following an incident earlier this month involving one of the B-2s.
On 10th December a B-2 aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing at Whiteman Air Force Base after an inflight malfunction which resulted in a fire.
Following the incident, the entire B-2 fleet has been grounded for inspection. The Air Force also cancelled a planned flyover with the B-2 for the 2023 Rose Bowl Game.
The US Air Force has 21 B-2 Bombers each costing USD 1.2 Billion to build.
