Flights To Male’ Will Save USD 1 Million Lost In Foreign Exchange Every Month Says US-Bangla MD

US-Bangla, the largest private airline in Bangladesh launched flights between Male’ and Dhaka last Thursday.

US-Bangla will operate three weekly flights between Dhaka, Bangladesh, and Male’ Maldives on the Boeing 737.


The airline’s Managing Director Mr.Mohammed Al Abdullah Manum said on Friday that launching these flights would save USD 1 million lost in foreign exchange every month.


Prior to this, no carrier from Bangladesh operated flights to the Maldives. The competitive airliner for the route is Maldivian.


Maldivian operated flights to Dhaka in the recent years with a stopover in Chennai, India however, lately the airline has been operating direct flights.


Bangladesh’s national airline Biman Bangladesh Airline too expressed plans to operate the same flight earlier in 2021.
