The Emirates Group has announced a substantial 20‑week salary bonus for its global workforce following the strongest financial performance in the company’s history, marking a defining moment for the Dubai‑based aviation giant after a year of operational challenges and rapid recovery.

The bonus was confirmed in an internal message from Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates airline and Group, who praised employees for their resilience and commitment during a period marked by geopolitical disruptions and intense operational pressure. He noted that staff “showed up with commitment and passion” despite the complexities triggered by the US‑Israel‑Iran conflict earlier in the year.

The Group posted a record Dh24.4 billion profit, up 7 per cent from the previous year, with revenues rising to Dh150.5 billion. Cash assets also climbed to Dh59.6 billion, underscoring the company’s strong financial footing and its ability to navigate a volatile global aviation landscape.

Emirates and dnata continued expanding their workforce, with total headcount increasing 8 per cent to 130,919 employees. Recruitment remained highly competitive: the airline received 3.5 million job applications, shortlisted 390,000 candidates, and hired more than 9,700 new employees in the UAE alone.

Operationally, Emirates restored much of its global network and is now flying to 137 destinations across 72 countries, spanning the Americas, Europe, Africa, West Asia, the Middle East/GCC, the Far East, and Australasia. Sheikh Ahmed credited Dubai’s aviation infrastructure and rapid crisis‑response capabilities for enabling the airline to stabilise operations faster than many regional peers.

A recent Oxford Economics study highlighted the sector’s broader economic impact, noting that aviation supports more than 630,000 jobs in Dubai, a figure projected to grow by 185,000 by 2030.

The 20‑week bonus stands among the most generous profit‑sharing payouts in Emirates Group history, reflecting both the scale of its financial rebound and the company’s commitment to recognising the workforce that helped deliver a record‑breaking year.
