A SpiceJet Boeing 737‑700 taxiing to its stand at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport collided with a parked Akasa Air Boeing 737 on Thursday afternoon, causing damage to both aircraft.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:15 pm after the SpiceJet aircraft arrived from Leh and was taxiing into its allocated stand. During the turn, the aircraft’s right winglet collided with the left‑side horizontal stabiliser of the stationary Akasa Air 737, which was preparing to operate a scheduled service to Hyderabad.
Both airlines confirmed that no passengers or crew were injured. The Akasa aircraft, which had completed pushback, was brought back to the stand for inspection, while the SpiceJet aircraft was immediately grounded following the collision.
Initial assessments indicate damage to the SpiceJet winglet and the Akasa Air horizontal stabiliser. Both aircraft remain out of service pending engineering evaluation and regulatory clearance. Akasa Air arranged alternative travel for passengers affected by the Hyderabad flight.
