Etihad to Resume Limited Flights from 6th March Including Flights to the Maldives

Etihad Airways has announced that it will restart a limited commercial flight schedule from 6th to 19th March, restoring service to a select group of international destinations including Male’, Maldives as the airline begins a phased return to operations following regional airspace disruptions.



Etihad confirmed that flights will operate only after extensive safety and security assessments carried out in coordination with relevant authorities. All other scheduled commercial services to and from Abu Dhabi remain suspended until further notice. 


The airline emphasised that passengers must not travel to the airport unless they have been directly contacted by Etihad or hold a confirmed booking on one of the newly reinstated flights.


Destinations Operating Between 6th-19th March


Etihad will operate flights between Abu Dhabi and 25 key international destinations, including:

Male’ (Maldives), London Heathrow, New York JFK, Frankfurt, Milan, Paris, Toronto, Kuala Lumpur, Colombo, Bangkok, Riyadh, Rome, Seoul, Zurich, Madrid, Moscow, Cairo, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Hanoi, Phuket, and Jeddah.


All services remain subject to operational approvals and may change depending on regional airspace conditions.


Passenger Handling and Rebooking


Etihad is prioritising guests with previously disrupted bookings, who will be re-accommodated as soon as seats become available. Tickets for operating flights are also available for purchase on etihad.com


Affected passengers will receive direct communication from the airline confirming their flight status and available options.


Rebooking and Refund Options


Guests holding Etihad tickets issued on or before 28 February 2026, with original travel dates up to 21 March 2026, may rebook free of charge onto Etihad-operated flights until 15 May 2026. Guests travelling on Etihad flights until 10 March may request a refund via the online refund form or through their travel agent.


Etihad notes that call centres are experiencing high volumes, and customers seeking refunds are encouraged to use the online form for faster processing.


Guidance for Travellers


Etihad advises all passengers to:


  • Check flight status at etihad.com before travelling.

  • Ensure contact details are updated in their booking.

  • Monitor email for schedule changes or cancellations.


Etihad says it will continue to monitor the situation closely and adjust its schedule as airspace conditions evolve. The airline reiterated that safety remains its absolute priority, and flights will operate only when all safety criteria are fully met.
