HiSky Commences Operations at Terminal 1 of Velana International Airport

Velana International Airport (VIA) welcomed HiSky’s inaugural flight to Terminal 1, marking the airline’s official start of operations at the terminal. With HiSky’s addition, 38 international airlines now operate through Terminal 1.

Passengers arriving on the inaugural service were greeted with warm Maldivian hospitality, including a traditional cultural dance performance that showcased the country’s heritage and offered visitors an authentic first impression of the Maldives.

A distinguished welcoming delegation was present for the occasion, including the Group General Manager of Maldives Inflight Catering, Mr. Ali Shakir; Deputy Manager of Voyages Maldives, Mr. Ignaz Mansoor; representatives from HiSky; and MACL Executive Committee Members. Their presence highlighted the collaborative effort behind expanding airline partnerships and enhancing the passenger experience at VIA.

HiSky’s commencement at Terminal 1 is expected to support increased connectivity and contribute to the continued growth of the Maldives as a leading global destination.
