Maldivian Seeks GSA in Bangladesh, Hinting at Possible Route Relaunch

Island Aviation Services Ltd (IASL), the operator of Maldivian, has issued a call for expressions of interest (EOI) to appoint a General Passenger Sales Agent (GSA) in Bangladesh. The move suggests the airline may be preparing to resume scheduled services to the country.

The EOI invitation is open to qualified entities capable of representing Maldivian’s commercial interests in Bangladesh. Interested parties must submit their application via email by 23:59 hrs Maldives local time on November 6, 2025. Emails should be sent to procurement.admin@iasl.aero, with copies to mohamed.ziyau@iasl.aero and mohamed.shaee@iasl.aero.
Applicants are advised to carefully review the Request for Proposal (RFP) document attached to the announcement for full details on eligibility, scope of services, and evaluation criteria. Registered parties seeking clarification may submit queries to the same email addresses by 23:59 hrs on November 11, 2025.
Maldivian previously operated flights to Dhaka before suspending the route. Flights between Dhaka and Male’ are operated by carries such as US-Bangla Airlines. A renewed presence by Maldivian would add competitive depth to the market and strengthen connectivity between the Maldives and Bangladesh.
