Foundation Laid for Island Aviation Services’ New Corporate Head Office

Island Aviation Services Limited (IASL), the parent company of the national carrier Maldivian, has embarked on a significant milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony for its new Corporate Head Office.

The foundation stone was ceremonially laid by prominent dignitaries, including Transport Minister Mohamed Ameen, Construction Minister Dr. Abdullah Muthalib, Managing Director of Male’ Water and Sewerage Company Abdul Matheen Mohamed, IAS Managing Director Ibrahim Iyas, and Deputy Managing Director Ali Saleem. IAS Board members and staff were also in attendance, marking the occasion with corporate pride and national support .
The new 12 story office, covering approximately 4,745 sqft, is designed to consolidate IASL’s currently scattered workforce spread across five separate buildings in into a centralized hub. This consolidation is expected to generate significant cost savings by reducing leasing expenses while enhancing collaboration across departments .
The ground-floor of the new building will house a ticket office, offering greater convenience to passengers and streamlining customer experiences. The project contract was awarded to the Hunan No. 6 Engineering Company Ltd., which aims to complete the building by December 2026.
