The new service is operated by Maldivian’s Twin Otter seaplane fleet and will initially run twice weekly, with flights scheduled on Thursdays and Saturdays. The launch follows a collaborative agreement between Island Aviation Services and Hawks Hotels, aimed at supporting Kamadhoo’s growing guesthouse sector. The initiative aligns with national efforts to decentralize tourism and strengthen infrastructure in non-resort islands.

The launch was welcomed by local officials and endorsed by national leadership during President Mohamed Muizzu’s recent visit to Baa Atoll. Stakeholders have described the service as a transformative step for Kamadhoo’s economy, with potential to generate employment, stimulate investment, and improve access to essential services.
