Parking at Velana Airport Restricted from July 17 Ahead of VIA Terminal Opening

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has announced temporary parking restrictions in preparation for the official opening event of Velana International Airport’s New Passenger Terminal, scheduled for 26th July 2025.

According to MACL, parking in designated areas will be suspended as follows:
East Side Parking Zone:
Parking of four-wheeled vehicles will not be allowed from 17th July 2025 onwards. Vehicle owners are requested to clear any parked vehicles from the east side zone by that date.
West Side Parking Zone:
Parking restrictions for all vehicles will come into effect from 18:00 on 17th July 2025.
MACL has also cautioned that any vehicles left in these areas after the stated times will be towed with assistance from Maldives Police Service.
The company noted that the reopening date for both parking zones will be communicated at a later time.
MACL expressed its apologies for any inconvenience caused and called for the public’s cooperation to ensure smooth preparations for the new terminal’s opening.
