The trials, conducted in close collaboration with all relevant MACL departments, focused on validating the performance and readiness of essential passenger processing systems. These include:

• Passenger Check-in System Integration

• Departure Control System (DCS) Operations

• Baggage Reconciliation System (BRS) Functionality

• Boarding Process Management Systems

• Queue Management System Operations

The testing program was carried out in strategic partnership with Maldivian, ensuring seamless alignment between airline operations and the new terminal’s advanced infrastructure. According to MACL, the successful integration with the national carrier confirms that all core systems meet international aviation standards.

With all critical systems now tested and verified, MACL has officially confirmed the terminal’s operational readiness for full-scale passenger services. The New Passenger Terminal is scheduled to open in line with the 60th anniversary of Maldivian independence, a milestone moment both for the nation and its aviation sector.

As the largest infrastructure investment in the history of Maldivian aviation, the New Passenger Terminal is set to redefine passenger experience at VIA, offering modern facilities and enhanced operational capabilities in line with global standards.
