Since the start of 2021, Emirates has maintained its top position as the airline carrying the most passengers to the Maldives.
As of July 2021, the UAE airliner has carried more than 100,000 passengers with more than 1,200 flights operated between Male’ Maldives and Dubai, UAE.
Qatar Airways remained close behind in second place since the beginning of the year however the gap between the two airlines has increased in the recent months.
While Emirates carried more than a 100,000 passengers, Qatar Airways has carried over 77,000. Russian airliner Aeroflot is in third place with 73,000 passengers carried.
Emirates is preparing for busy summer travel surge in the coming weeks with estimate 450,000 passengers expected to travel through Dubai International Airport (DXB) in the next two weekends.
"The busiest days for the airline will be the next two weekends, 2-3 July and 9-10 July, although high passenger traffic is expected to start today, and will run through 12 July," Emirates
Emirates expects its flight capacity to be up by 90% of pre-pandemic level through July.
